While doing some research about La Guajira and the Wayuu, I encountered a historic travel report of a French scientist and adventurer from the end of the 19th century. He spent three years in the region – a time when Riohacha was a tiny city and the last outpost of the “civilized” world. The book got translated by a professional translator into English. The figures and drawings got edited and improved.
