While doing some research about La Guajira and the Wayuu, I encountered a historic travel report of a French scientist and adventurer from the end of the 19th century. He spent three years in the region – a time when Riohacha was a tiny city and the last outpost of the “civilized” world. The book got translated by a professional translated into an English of that time. The figures and drawings got edited and improved.
If you plan to travel to La Guajira and/or you are interested in history, adventure, or indigenous this book will entertain you.
